In order to register for any course the student needs to have an individual account in the Usosweb. The account information (special individual ID number (PESEL) and password) will be provided by our International Relations Office (IRO) in the beginning of the semester. Please note: Erasmus students are provided their ID number (PESEL) and password by the main University IRO. The own student accounts in the system include info about selected courses, grades, timetable, etc.
A list of all courses offered by the University of Warsaw is available at www.ects.uw.edu.pl. This list is being updated twice a year, in spring and in autumn. The updated lists of courses (all taught in English) which will be available at our Faculty for all exchange students in current academic year will follow in due time. Also, they can be found on the Faculty website, at: http://www.wz.uw.edu.pl/serwisy,witryna,33,dzial,197.html. We will keep you informed in case of any changes in our offered courses. (Just in case, short clarification: ECTS is the credit system based on student workload, for which a certain number of credits is assigned to each course. It is used in all study areas for both incoming and local students) • Registration for courses at the faculties is done through the on-line registration system at: http://usosweb.dak.uw.edu.pl. Please note: All our courses taught in English at the Faculty of Management should be available in the system from the beginning of each semester so students should try to enroll in the lectures by themselves. However, from the previous years experience we realize that the USOS system sometimes is a bit unfriendly for users☺ That's why, in case of any problems – please let me know. Deliver me please the filled forms (they will be available on our Faculty website) with selected courses ASAP (directly to our office or via email) and I’ll register you by myself. The mentioned forms include such information as the courses’ titles and codes. Also – ECTS credits numbers and contact data of the teachers. It is very important to put your correct email address on the form since this is the usual way of contacting you all with all important information (changes in the timetable, teachers announcements, etc.) IMPORTANT: if you are not sure about the course – you are allowed to attend 2 first classes and then it is possible to cancel the course. After that time and attending more than 2 classes it is no possible to drop the course any more! • Registration for sports, foreign language courses and Polish language courses is done on-line through: http://rejestracja.usos.uw.edu.pl.
The timetable for current week you will always find both on our Faculty website as well as on the boards outside our office – it is worth to check it from time to time because sometimes we need make some modifications. As mentioned before – I try to inform you about all important issues by email but also by announcements on the boards.
All of you who need to or just would like to study Polish are welcome to take that challenge:) The Polish language courses are provided by The Centre of Polish Language & Culture For Foreigners "POLONICUM" (main campus, Krakowskie Przedmieście Str.) Pay attention please that our exchange students, as the students of University of Warsaw DO NOT have to pay for the Polish course! More information about POLONICUM you will find under: http://www.polonicum.uw.edu.pl/ TANDEM – 2nd option of learning Polish The ESN (Erasmus Student Network) Tandem is a programme of language and cultural exchange. Its aim is to promote less formal ways of learning and teaching foreign languages, as well as to encourage cultural integration among students. The idea lying behind Tandem is to offer both Polish and international students a possibility to teach each other their native languages. For more information: www.uw.esn.pl
