Academic calendarThe academic year at University of Warsaw consists of two semesters. The winter semester begins on October and ends in January, with a break for Christmas. Christmas vacation: 24.12.2012 – 01.01.2013 Easter holiday: 29.03.2013 – 03.04.2013 The spring semester begins in mid-February and ends in September. Application Procedure:

It should be 300 x 375 pixels, as this allows the printing of a 2cm x 2.5cm photo of appropriate quality. The electronic photo must be in JPG format, and its size may not exceed 50 kB (it’s necessary to prepare the Student's ID card for you!) Being a foreign student at University of Warsaw at Faculty of Management gives the students the opportunity of having their own mentors - a Polish Warsaw University student who can pick their up from the airport when they arrive, take their around the university and town, introduce them to formal and informal procedures and the student lifestyle, and provide them with help throughout your stay. To apply for mentor please place an appropriate note in our application form or just send me an e-mail. Accommodation and living in Warsaw University of Warsaw has agreements with a few dormitories for students. Rent ranges per month depending on the sort of room (single, double or triple) and student house. Students who would like to look for accommodation on theirs own will be able to find some useful information in attached brochures. Students who need the help of our International Relations Office are expected to send us (on my email address) detailed information about their arrival and departure to Warsaw as well as the completed attached "The housing application" form as soon as possible. Please note: the rooms and flats in our dormitories are scarce and we CAN NOT promise that we will be able to arrange the housing for you in your selected student house! However, I have a pleasure to inform you all that from the academic year 2011/12 our Faculty starts cooperation with HC Housing Corporation provides accommodation for young people and students who attend universities and other higher education institutions in Warsaw established by the students of our Faculty. You will find all the necessary information about accommodation at Housing Corporation on www.housingcorporation.pl. On this website you will also find information about the registration process. Visa requirements and application forms as well as the complete list of Polish diplomatic missions abroad are available at www.msz.gov.pl Students and academics staying at the University of Warsaw for more than three months are obliged to obtain a temporary residence permit. The residence permit is issued by the Department of Citizens Affairs of the Mazovian Voivodeship Office (www.mazowsze.uw.gov.pl) for one year. Insurance and health insurance Health insurance is mandatory for all students for the whole duration of their stay in Poland. Otherwise you will be asked to pay for any health service you get. Every student coming to the University of Warsaw for short-term studies will be asked to present proof of health insurance upon arrival. Foreign students and academics are advised to purchase third party liability insurance and accident insurance in their home countries. EU citizens staying in Poland are eligible for free health service providing they present their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) along with the Student ID and passport or ID card . EU citizens not having insurance in their country of residence and non-EU citizens may sign an insurance agreement with the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ-Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia) or with one of private clinics. You will receive all useful information and directions and any other assistance you need (e.g. your passwords to our Student computer system USOS and NET ID for an access to the wireless Internet at our Faculty, etc.).
