2. Special requirements for enrollment

Master’s degree


To enter the master’s degree course in “Marketing” specialty one has to pass an oral examination in marketing (professional examination) and English each of which is evaluated within 100-score scale.

List of subjects for the professional entrance examination in “Marketing” specialty:

  1. Marketing;

  2. Marketing Research;

  3. Marketing Trade Policy;

  4. Marketing Price Policy;

  5. Marketing Policy of Communications;

  6. Branch Marketing Policy.

  7. Industrial Marketing;

  8. Business and Its Fundamental Legal Principles.

Entrants of have scored less than 25 points for each entrance examination are not allowed to take part in the entrance competition.


^ 3. General Description of the Field of Training

Education Objectives of Training within the Master’s degree course:


1. The main goal of training marketing experts at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is shaping highly skilled, mobile and educated professionals with high level of culture, who fully adopt the achievements of the Bologna education system and work as well as accomplishments of domestic higher education.

2. Provision of general education level of training of marketing experts which allows them succeed in doing business in Ukraine, strengthening of international competition and enhancement of social criteria concerning business activity.

3. Shaping of socially oriented worldview of a future expert concerning the place and role of market economy, business activity and businessman in social life.

4. Recognition of a determinant role of marketing research of industrial and commercial activity of enterprises of all proprietary forms and spheres of activity in achieving maximum research results of management.

5. Shaping a positive high intellectual image of students-marketing experts manifested in the positive relations with the other people and enthusiastic attitude to work.


Professional objectives of training of individuals within the master’s degree course:


1. Mastering of the dialectics of interdependence of marketing, management, financial, industrial, technological, logistic and information components of modern management and the leading role of marketing in modern economy.

2. Training of future experts in marketing at LTSNU, whose high professional skills shall provide them competitiveness at the regional and nation-wide labour markets.

3. Knowledge enhancement within all the fields of modern marketing: investigation of market of assortment, product, price, sale, innovation policy and external economic support of business activity.

4. Creating commodities and services with necessary qualities and attractiveness.

5. Shaping of price policy, determined by competitiveness of an enterprise.


Interconnection of professional objectives and key results suggest the following:


1. Knowledge enhancement in the sphere of marketing activity of enterprises, institutions and organizations;

2. Efficient implementation of the acquired knowledge in trade, price and communication activity of enterprises, institutions and organizations;

3. Correspondence of the level of an analyst of economic and market issues to a respective filed of activity of enterprises, institutions and organizations;

4. Conducting of marketing research of an enterprise’s sustaining power in order to make current and long-term decisions.

  1. Head of production department in wholesale and retail trade (head of a retail trade enterprise; head of a market; head of a section);

  2. Heads of industrial departments in commercial service (chief administrator (at commercial enterprises));

  3. Heads of marketing departments (sales manager; head of sales (marketing) department; head of commercial department);

  4. Heads of PR and advertising departments (head of the advertising (PR) department);

  5. Heads of department of logistical support (head of the department for external relations; head of the department for equipment configuration).

  1. Managers of wholesale trade and mediation in trade (manager of wholesale trade).

^ 6. Evaluation Requirements


A one hundred score evaluation system is used at the University. The following scale is used when the semester mark is transferred into the national evaluation scale (“unsatisfactory”, “satisfactory”, “good”, “excellent” in case of semester examination or “passed”, “failed” is case of semester credit):

A “passed” mark is put if a student was credited not less than 50 scores.


    1. Final Control Requirements (State Attestation)

^ State Attestation Requirements for HEI Graduates

Attestation of Training Quality of bachelors, specialists and masters of marketing concerning the virtual conformity of the level of education to the EQC requirements is provided by the State Examination Commission of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University within the profession, whose head is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine after students fulfill the curriculum requirements.


Procedure


The attestation is conducted on the basis of evaluation of professional knowledge, skills and habits of the graduates, indicated in the academic characteristics of master’s degree course, using the methods of complex diagnostics: for obtaining master’s degree this is defense of master’s degree paper.


^ Evaluation Criteria


According to the “Regulations concerning Organization of Education Process in Higher Education Institutions”, approved by the Decree of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine № 161 on 02.06.1993 (Section “Measures of Control”) Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University developed forms and methods of control assignments for students and evaluation criteria.

A system of tests and students’ knowledge evaluation criteria operate at the University. The system includes methods and measures of regular tests, generalized requirements of defense of final research papers (bachelor’s degree, diploma and master’s degree papers) and knowledge evaluation criteria at the state examinations.

The University successfully introduces credit and module system and has developed a set of organization measures and methods concerning evaluation of students’ knowledge, which take into account all the stages of education within different types of classes within studying of a particular subject.

The teachers use the following criteria for evaluation of students’ knowledge at complex state examinations and final defense of degree (diploma) research papers (projects):

“Excellent” mark is put if a student has fundamental systematic knowledge of subjects, can generalize data and efficiently and creatively implements them. The task must be solved and each stage of solution must be explained. A student must confidently use terminology, analyze unconventional situations, independently find sources of information and use the information in practical activity.

“Good” mark is put if a student gives answers to all questions of the card, has basic knowledge of the subject, finds ways of solving theoretical problems and provides his option with arguments, can use material in standard situations, can analyze academic information at the analytic and synthetic levels, yet does not take into account all the minor issues of theoretical provisions. The problem of the examination card is solved yet irrationally or is lacking of substantiation.

“Satisfactory” mark is put if a student only reproduces the academic material within the subject, is familiar with basic concepts of education material yet has done some mistakes. The problem is not solved entirely but the ways of solution are correct.

The “unsatisfactory” mark is put is a students has fragmentary knowledge of subject, the problem is not solved.

National scale is based on the ECTS scale.

Evaluation criteria of degree (diploma) research papers (projects) are developed in order to integrate with the Bologna system of education.
