Introduction The instructions below are provided to assist you in preparing your DSSR-2012 extended abstract. We hope to give the book of abstracts a single, high-quality appearance. To do this we ask authors to follow this instruction as close as possible. Your abstract will be printed exactly as received, so please proofread it carefully before sending it to the conference committee. The length of the extended abstract should not exceed four (4) pages including title and references. The content should be indicated through suitable headings. Although not compulsory, the headings should include introduction, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. All the materials should fit a JIS B5 paper with right, left, top, and bottom margins of 2.5 cm. Manuscripts should be typed single–spaced, in a single column. Do not insert a blank line space between paragraphs. Please, do not insert page numbers in the manuscript, as these will be added later. ^ The paper should be written in English. Note the style of headings and text body in this instruction sheet. They have been typed and placed according to the instructions. Use flush left/ragged-right justification in the body text. Use only first order headings in the extended abstract. The headings should be in uppercase and lowercase bold letters, and flush with the left-hand margin. Insert a line spaces above the header, none below. Use 12-point Times Roman or similar Serif font. Headings should be numbered consecutively. Avoid too many figures and tables if possible, due to limited space. If figures or tables are used, include them as a part of the text. Figure captions should be well readable and included as the parts of the figures. Table titles should be in top cells of the tables. Remember that figures and tables should be in grey-tones (black and white), as the book of proceedings will be printed in black ink only. ^ The title should be typed with bold 14-point proportionally text, while 12-point text should be used for author’s names, affiliations and the e-mail address. The name of the presenting author should be underlined. Affiliation should include the name of institution, city and country (postal address is not required). If affiliations of the authors are different ones, please use upper indexes for the notifications as showed in the head of this instruction. DSSR-2012 recommends using the Arial font. The title, authors' names, and affiliation run across the full width of the page. Insert a line spaces above the authors names, above the affiliation an above e-mail address. Use centered justification. 4. Citations and references Reduce the number of citations as much as possible due to limited space. If references are necessary, follow the Phil Mag requirements for references (please see http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/style/reference/tf_W.pdf). |
