Press-release The VII International Scientific Conference «O.S. Puskin and the process of world literature» The House of Scientists’ Green Hall will host the Opening of the VII International Scientific Conference «O.S. Puskin and the process of world literature» on the 19th of October at 10:00. The Conference is devoted to a significant scientist, a brilliant expert in Pushkin poetry, Doctor of philology, professor A.O. Slusar. His life wasn’t just connected with Odessa University, Philology Department. He gave his entire life to philology. He met death suddenly on November 14, 2000 in his office, but he left an enormous scientific inheritance. A.O. Slusar rose from being simply a student to a Doctor of philology, Professor, Chairman of the Department of Russian and later World Philology. He was a subdean and then a Department of Philology Chairman. Arnold Oleksiyovich was not only a talented scientist, but a very extraordinary person. He is an author of a study «O.S. Pushkin and M.V. Gogol Prose»; he wrote multiple articles concerning literature process issues, concept of a person in literature, psychology of an artist, etc. A.O. Slusar was experienced in genre and typological comparison. A.O. Slusar created the Russian Literature Scientific School of the XX century. The conference is organized by the World Literature Department of Odessa National I.I.Mechnikov University. Scientists from Hungary, Poland, Russia and Georgia will attend this conference. Four sections are at work: «Pushkin Text: Problems of Interpretation», «Problems of World Simulation in Literature Spectrum», «O.S. Pushkin in Cultural Sense of XX-XIX», «O.S. Pushkin. Linguistic and cultural aspects». The book «Slusar Arnold Alekseevich. Memoria» was published to the beginning of the Conference. It consists of the Professor’s scientific researches and his colleagues’ articles in honor of Arnold Alekseevich.
